Here are two typical leaf specimens from the
red
oak group, a subgroup of genus (Quercus).
This is a simple (one blade), pinnate (one central vein, the mid-rib, and
smaller branching veins) leaf. Notice how the leaf lobes are bristled,
forming
pointed ends which classify it to the red oaks species.
